Faculty Position Announcement In African American Studies at California State Polytechnic University

The Ethnic and Women’s Studies Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2015. We seek a candidate with expertise in African American Studies. Preferences will be given to candidates with specializations, but not restricted, in the following areas: diaspora, critical prison studies, research methodologies, critical race theories, comparative social movements, cultural productions and/or performance, labor, education, digital and social media, queer/LGBT, gender, immigration, and multiracial/hybrid identities. The candidates will be expected to teach courses in their field of specializations, and have the ability to teach comparative courses, integrate multiple disciplinary cultural and global perspectives, and incorporate educational technology in their teaching and professional activities.


The application deadline is November 14, 2014 or until a suitable candidate has been selected. An earned doctorate from an accredited institution is required by September 2015.
